HUD-assisted families may be eligible for the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. The FSS program helps families set goals, increase income, and learn new skills while becoming less dependent on assistance and subsidies.

This program provides case management, resources, support, and structured classroom time through the GOALS program. A Case Manager helps you identify and outline your self-sufficiency goals and what steps you need to take to get there. By linking you to education and training, employment, financial management, homeownership, and other resources, they provide the support, encouragement, and tools you’ll need to achieve self-sufficiency.

As an incentive and reward for participants, as you increase your income while in the program, a special savings account is set aside for you which earns interest. The money is yours when you’ve completed your self-sufficiency goals and graduate! Are you the next successful graduate?
